Leadership Edge: TRXL 173
A conversation with Cody Winchester.
Episode Summary
In this episode, I had a conversation with Cody Winchester, Lead Technology Trainer at HMC Architects, about implementing dedicated technology training in AEC firms. Cody has played a pivotal role in integrating technology training into architectural practice, bridging the gap between people and professional growth and traditional workflows and digital transformation. We discussed his journey from conventional practice into digital training, the importance of digital literacy, and the challenges and successes of implementing structured technology education in architecture firms. Cody also shared insights from his case study at Autodesk University 2024, highlighting his experiences and the impact of a dedicated digital practice team on firm-wide efficiency and innovation.
Cody said something during our conversation that AEC leaders should ponder:
The prospects around AI and even just Autodesk as its own competitor to every other architect for that matter... Like the things that they're capable of doing. That's a question that I think every firm should ask themselves is like, just assume that the way you're doing things will not exist in—generously—10 years.
